A

yeh, as he is affectionately known by us, will always remain in our  hearts as the patriarch of the family.  He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ah Mah - her iron will continues to rally and bond the WONG family into the strong, lasting cohesive unit that it is.

Ayeh passed away peacefully at noon on 2nd November 2004 after a brief illness.  The whole family gathered at the bedside for the sad occasion..

According to the Almanac, the afternoon and evening of 23rd November was designated for the wake, with the main funeral service conducted in late morning of the 24th.  At noon, he was buried at the Tseung Kwan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery.

Funeral rites were gracefully simple but traditional.  The family gathered, Ah Mah, all eight sons and daughters, with spouses, from the second generation (2G) and 18 out of 21 of the grandchildren (3G), gathered together at this emotional moment to celebrate the life of a man who created our most enduring bond of all - family.

Family friends, colleagues, and many of those to whom Ayeh had extended his kindness, came from far and wide to pay their last respect.  In all, over 600 floral tributes were received. Countless attended in person.
